The South Australian Forest Products Association (SAFPA) congratulates all the finalists and award winners announced at the 2023 Green Triangle Timber Industry Awards (GTTIA), held last night at The Barn, Mount Gambier.
“The GTTIA ceremony shines a light on the importance of the region’s forest and timber industries and celebrates the achievements and innovation of the multiple businesses and individuals who contribute to the sustainability of forestry in the Green Triangle”, said Mr Nathan Paine, Chief Executive Officer of the South Australian Forest Products Association (SAFPA).
“In South Australia, we are incredibly proud and fortunate to have an industry that supports and elevates one another through sustainable and innovative practices whilst improving the sovereign capability of the sector. The Awards not only acknowledges those working and excelling within the industry by their peers but offers a platform to promote the forestry and encourage stakeholders and skilled employees to the region”, continued Mr Paine.
South Australia is proudly the birthplace of Australia’s plantation forestry industry, with Mount Gambier known as the hub of the industry, and the Green Triangle, more importantly, labelled as Australia’s premier plantation forestry and wood products region.
“Forestry and timber products are a critical sector to the economic and environmental wellbeing of Australia, and it is important to shine a light on those individuals and businesses who continue to dedicate their careers and time to the advancement and empowerment of forestry”, said Mr Paine.
“And, to have the Premier, the Hon. Peter Malinauskas, MP, and the Minister for Forest Industries, the Hon. Clare Scriven, MLC, to attend the Awards Dinner illustrates just how important the forest and timber industries are to the State Government and to the social and economic fabric of our regional communities”, said Mr Paine.
“Congratulations to the Green Triangle Timber Industry Awards Committee for their dedication and commitment to the industry, and for continuing to showcase the excellence and innovation within the timber industry”, concluded Mr Paine.
